Jerry Rothwell es un director de documentales varias veces galardonado. Algunos de sus trabajos sonDonor Unknown, sobre un donante de esperma y su numerosa descendencia, estrenado en el festival de cine de Tribeca y nominado para el Premio Grierson; Town of Runners, cuyo estreno en Reino Unido corrió a cargo de la distribuidora Dogwoof y también se proyectó en el festival de cine de Tribeca; Heavy Load, sobre un grupo de personas con  dificultades para el aprendizaje que forman una banda de música punk; y Deep Water, sobre la malograda travesía de Donald Crowhurst en la regata a vela alrededor del mundo en 1968, con el que ganó el premio al mejor documental en el festival de cine de Roma y el Premio Grierson al mejor documental. En 2012, Rothwell ganó el prestigioso Royal Television Award por su labor como director de Donor Unknown y Town of Runners. Sus próximos estrenos serán los documentales Sour Grapes, para Netflix, y Arte, codirigido por Reuben Atlas. Ha trabajado en la productora Met Film Production como director ejecutivo y editor de numerosos documentales, entre ellos Men Who Swim, de Dylan Williams y The Village at the End of the World, deSarah Gavron.

Jerry Rothwell is a documentary filmmaker whose work includes the award-winning feature documentaries such as Donor Unknown, about a sperm donor and his many offspring which premiered at Tribeca FF and was nominated for a Grierson Award; Town of Runners, which was released theatrically in the UK by Dogwoof and also premiered at Tribeca Film Festival; Heavy Load, about a group of people with learning disabilities who form a punk band; and Deep Water, about Donald Crowhurst’s ill-fated voyage in the 1968 round the world yacht race, which won Best Cinema Documentary at The Rome Film Festival and a Grierson Award for best Cinema Documentary. In 2012, Rothwell won a prestigious Royal Television Award for his directing work on Donor Unknown and Town of Runners. His next films will be Sour Grapes, for Netflix, and Arte, co­directed with Reuben Atlas. At Met Film Production, he has worked as an executive producer and editor on numerous feature docs including Dylan Williams’ Men Who Swim and Sarah Gavron’s The Village at the End of the World.
